From the Microsoft Store, it updates by itself. Or take the installer, for you alone or for everyone on the computer, or the portable version that runs from any folder.
Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.
macOS
Install from PyPI with Python 3.10 to 3.14 and FFmpeg on the PATH. Homebrew gives you both.

subtitld Haiku
SoonSubtitld runs natively on Haiku, with its own icon and the system's window decorator. It is on its way to HaikuPorts.
Until then, the recipes are in packaging/haiku.
From PyPI
Python 3.10 to 3.14 and FFmpeg on the PATH. On Linux the audio also needs PortAudio: libportaudio2 on Debian and Ubuntu.

Run from source
The same requirements, in a virtual environment. Each test runs Qt off-screen with its own scratch settings.
